70 people raised their voices in support of expanding access to midwives in Miami-Dade County and beyond as a solution to the health crisis. The rally organizer, Jamarah Amani, stated, “A woman should be able to walk into any public health clinic or hospital and request the services of a midwife. It is a woman’s right be educated about her birth options during her pregnancy and to be counseled to make the best decision for herself and her family – whether that is home birth, birth center or hospital.”
